Dr. Batu Baserdem (he, him)
I am a board-certified internal medicine physician who delivers specialized, affirming healthcare that celebrates the fullness of our community. Most of my patients identify as cis homosexual gay men and (as in our community as a whole) many of my patients identify in ways that span gender expression, gender identity, and gender fluidity - from nonbinary gender X, transgender, and gender nonconforming as well as LGBTQIA2S+. My goal is to meet you where you are, to empower your health and wellness.
My background
I began my medical career in my hometown Istanbul, Turkey at the highly prestigious Marmara University School of Medicine. I moved to New York City to complete my Internal Medicine Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, and now call New York my home.
An inquisitive scientist attuned to the growing convergence between health and tech, I also received an MPA with a focus on Health Policy and Management from New York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and an MS in Health Informatics from Hofstra University.
I am a loving husband, devoted dog dad and human rights advocate, championing access to high-quality, affirming care.

I partner with my patients as an empathic, attentive doctor and nonjudgmental problem solver. I firmly believe that trust is key to a great patient-physician relationship and strengthens positive health outcomes - so in addition to my competence as a physician, I value compassion, privacy and confidentiality, reliability and dependability, and excellent communication.
